MANILA, Nov. 29, 2014 — In marking World AIDS Day 2014, a group aims to increase awareness among young people about the fights against HIV/AIDS in an international event celebrated locally on Dec. 1, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Atrium Hotel, Gil Puyat Avenue corner Taft Avenue.
Carrying the theme, “Increasing awareness to „Getting to ZERO : Zero New Infections; Zero AIDS-related deaths”, the event is
organized by Pinoy Plus, an organization of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and AIDS in the country, and is expected to gather 300 college students from 15 schools and universities in Cavite and Metro Manila.
Organized in partnership with Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) and community partner groups, the celebration will feature
activities like a banner-designing contest, forums, exhibits and speeches from celebrities and community members.
The forums will focus on the different HIV-related programs dealing with:
- Treatment, Care and Support of People Living with HIV (PLHIV)
- Advances in AIDS Research
