MANILA, Sept. 15, 2016 – “Hugot” lines that make the rounds are a testament to young people’s preoccupation with matters of the heart and this is exactly what a youth event, organized on Sept. 17, 6:00 p.m., at Grogan Hall, Baclaran Church, Parañaque City, aims to address.
Organized by the Redemptorist Youth Ministry (RYM), #RealTalk: Usapang love, sex, and relationships will feature Filipinos for Life president Anna Cosio and pro-life speaker AJ Perez as its main speakers.
“We think this issue of love sex and relationship is the most common issue of the youth of today,” said Queen Amor Monserrat, a RYM youth core member at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.
According to the 26-year old catechist, the “love talk” aims to educate and help young people protect their dignity by loving and respecting their unique personality and identity as a child of God.
“We [want] our youth to model their lives on Mama Mary,” she added, saying young Filipinos face the challenge of staying chaste in the face of immodest fashion and trends that do not value purity.
