MANILA, June 9, 2015— The website of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Museum was hacked on Tuesday, forcing a temporary shutdown, a school official said.
A group calling itself the “China 1937CN Team” posted messages slamming what it called “the Vietnam-Philippines joint action.”
“South China Sea is China’s inherent territory,” the hackers said.
Prof. Giovanna Fontanilla, director of UST Public Affairs Office, however, said the site has been “compromised” but the damage is limited to the website.
“We are currently addressing this unfortunate incident. Online access to this site is temporarily unavailable,” she said.
The website contains information and images about what is said to be the oldest existing museum in the Philippines. (CBCPNews)
