Her image and relics has been open to public for veneration since yesterday and will last until July 22, 2016.
According to Radio Veritas, St. Mary Magdalene is one of the greatest saints of the Bible and an example of God’s mercy and grace.
The Gospel of Matthew, Mark, and John all record that Mary Magdalene was present at the crucifixion, it said.
Also, she was the chosen one to whom the risen Christ first appears on Easter Sunday, making her the “apostle to the apostles”.
“She is the messenger that Christ has conquered death, the Good News that became the very basis of Christian belief,” Radio Veritas said.
St. Mary Magdalene’s feast day is celebrated on July 22. She is the patron saint of converts, repentant sinners and contemplative life.
A Mass will be held in honor of her feast day on July 22 at the Radio Veritas Chapel located at the second floor of Veritas tower in EDSA, Quezon City. (Kevin Cariño/CBCPNews)
