MANILA, July 18, 2016–The Officers of the Knights of Columbus Fraternal Association of the Philippines, Inc. (KCFAPI), officially turned over to Archbishop Socrates Villegas, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president, on July 13 a check in the amount of Php 1 million from the Seed of Hope Fund.
Currently on its 7th year, the Seed of Hope Fund is a ten-million-pesos endowment fund of the KCFAPI that yields an average of one million pesos per annum earmarked for the special projects of the CBCP.
As in previous years, the fund is turned over during the bi-annual CBCP Plenary Assembly held at the Pope Pius Catholic Center in Manila.
The KCFAPI chairman Arsenio Isidro Yap together with its president Justice Jose Reyes led the KC officers in the turn-over held after the closing mass of the bishops’ plenary assembly that was presided by Manila archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.
The KCFAPI is a mutual benefit association of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines. It maintains two charitable foundations, namely, the KC Philippines Foundation and the Fr. George J. Willmann Charities.
Continuing its rehabilitation work for the super typhoon Yolanda victims, the KC Philippines Foundation has recently turned-over brick houses to typhoon victims in Marasbaras, Tacloban City. (KCFAPI News/CBCPNews)
