KRAKOW, Poland, July 28, 2016 – The Vocations Center stands like an oasis of quiet for young people attending the World Youth Day (WYD) in search of their life purpose and direction.

Located at the Cracovia Stadium near B?onia Park, where the opening ceremony of WYD was held July 26, the center is staffed with lay and consecrated people from various religious orders and congregations, movements, and communities ready to meet and share about their activities and life choices to interested pilgrims.

According to the WYD Press Office, the Vocations Center has four Academies:

  • Academy of God
  • Academy of the Family
  • Academy of Work
  • Academy of Mercy

The Academy of God focuses on finding one’s vocation to consecrated life and to the priesthood. The Academy of the Family, meanwhile, showcases the vocation to marriage and family life. Academy of Work deals with finding one’s vocation in one’s workplace and in one’s chosen career path and Academy of Mercy highlights the offering of works of mercy as a privilege and the utmost one can do.

The Vocations Center is open from July 26 to 30, 2016. For more details, interested parties may visit http://www.krakow2016.com/media/files/page_attachments/yuth_festival/Vocations_Centre_Program_ENG.pdf.

Hundreds of thousands of young people from an estimated 181 countries are in Krakow for the WYD until July 31. (Ron Regino / CBCPNews)
