MANILA, Jan. 25, 2013—Thousands of students are set to gather in a youth assembly organized by the Catechetical Foundation of the Archdiocese of Manila (CFAM), Manila Archdiocesan and Parochial Schools Association (MAPSA) and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) on January 26.
Focusing on the celebration of the Year of Faith, the gathering aims to establish and strengthen the youth’s relationship with Christ, provide opportunities for personal growth, encourage community involvement and empower them to become citizens who are imbued with Gospel values for the service of society and the Church.
De La Salle University President Br. Ricky Laguda, FSC, will give the welcoming address to be followed by a Mass that will be celebrated by CFAM Minister Msgr. Gerardo Santos.
Resource speakers include Alvin Barcelona of Kerygma, who will give a talk on “how to live the Faith”, PPCRV Chair Henrietta de Villa on “engaging citizens in elections 2013,” and Fr. Bong Gino on “how to share the Faith.”
Aside from the talks, there will also be workshops, small group sharing among participants, and praise and worship.
Organizers are expecting more than 3,000 young people, mostly high school students on the CFAM, MAPSA and CEAP Youth Assembly which will be held at the De La Salle University.
The event is themed “Live the Faith…Share the Faith”. (Jandel Posion)
