SAN FERNANDO City, Pampanga, July 9, 2014—With intensifying liturgical ministry work in Pampanga, the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission (ALC) of the Archdiocese of San Fernando is set to inaugurate the annual “Archdiocesan Meeting of Lay Liturgical Ministries” (AMLLM), says San Fernando Archbishop Paciano B. Aniceto in a circular.

The first session is scheduled on July 12, Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the conference Hall of the Paskuhan Village, San Fernando City, Pampanga.

The meeting seeks to update the officers on the liturgical affairs of the archdiocese. The points to be discussed are:
• Launching of the revised “Misal Kapampangan”, the monthly publication of the Roman Missal for the archdiocese
• Launching of the archdiocesan campaign for the International Eucharistic Congress
• Launching of the ALC album for the Year of the Laity

The event is an annual gathering of parish, vicariate, and archdiocesan officers of lay liturgical ministries (lectors, Eucharistic ministers, greeters, collectors, music ministers, and altar servers) aimed at fostering greater coordination and unity in the service of the liturgy.

According to Aniceto, “Coordination and togetherness are the keys to successful liturgical services at the altar of the Lord.”
The key Christian ministries are the ordained ministries—bishop, priest, and deacon—but, he stressed, through baptism, the faithful, all the “People of God”, share in the life of Christ and have a responsibility to take part in his ministry in some way.

Quoting Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 12:4-6, Aniceto said, “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.”

According to the prelate, it is in and through the members of his Body that Christ Himself is still engaged in the work of service.
Citing Psalms 133:1, Aniceto shared, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!”
