PARAÑAQUE City, Nov. 17, 2014 – Anong gagawin mo ngayong Pasko? (What will you be doing this Christmas?)
This question serves as the title of the Salesians’ Christmas fund-raising concert for the Benedict XVI Library set on Dec. 5-6, 2014 at the Don Bosco Center of Studies (DBCS) Benedict XVI Library.
‘Depth of God’s love’
“The theme of the concert centers around wanting to deepen the way people see Christmas, to bring Christ back into it, if you will. The idea is to sing songs which will remind people of the mystery of Christ and the depth of His love,” the organizers of the concert said in an interview explaining the choice of the theme.
The concert series will also feature seminarians who also study at DBCS: Servants of the Paraclete; Order of the Friars Minor Conventuals; Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus; Redemptoris Mater; Tertiary Capuchins of our Lady of Sorrows; Military Ordinate of the Philippines; and of course the Salesians of Don Bosco. Fifteen seminarians will also participate in the concert.
Anticipated performances will also be rendered by Fr. Rey de La Cruz, SDB, the Dean of Studies and President of DBCS, some Salesian priests, and Dr. Jo Manabat, the Dean of Graduate Studies for Liturgy of San Beda College, who also happens to be one of the professors of the theological school.
Capax Dei, the lead choir of the concert, will be the highlight the performances.
“Capax Dei is a theological concept which roughly means ‘We are capable of receiving from God’,” Bro. Donnie Duchin Duya, a Salesian seminarian, explained
“There will be songs in different languages, some familiar tunes and new ones to help see Christmas in a new light, hopefully,” the organizers stated.
