DAVAO City, Nov. 9, 2012—The DADITAMA region in Mindanao, comprising Davao, Digos, Tagum and Mati held a youth assembly focusing on New Evangelization at the John Paul II College in Davao City last October 26 to 28.
More than three hundred young people participated in the 3rd Youth Convention that carried the theme “The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith.”
Aside from catechesis on Porta Fidei (Door of Faith) given to delegates, the convention also launched the Lakbay Youth Newsletter and had discussions on Social Communication and Leadership and on issues concerning Love, Sex and Life.
Speakers were Fr. Ritschie Gamaya, DCD on the topic of Porta Fidei, Mr. Edwin Lopez of EWTN Network on Social Communication and Leadership and Dr. Ligaya Acosta on the topic Love, Sex and Life.
During the convention, delegates were housed in the parishes of San Pedro Cathedral, San Pablo Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Sasa, San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Talomo, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Bajada, and at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Torres.
Auxiliary Bishop George Rimando of Davao Archdiocese celebrated the mass.
Archdiocesan youth director Fr. Jojo Ortiz, acknowledged the help and assistance from sponsors, parishes and the diocese for the success of the convention.
