QUEZON City, Nov. 25, 2014—What better way to welcome the Lord at Christmas time than by singing and listening to Christmas carols?
Fresh from the success of “Sa Iyong Pag-ibig”, the Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom) invites the public to a free pre-Christmas concert on Nov. 28, Friday, 8 p.m. at the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace (Our Lady of Edsa Shrine), Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, corner Ortigas Avenue, Ugong Norte, Quezon City.
Dubbed “Carol of the Bells: A Christmas à Capella” the Yuletide musical treat is set to feature performances by JesCom’s newest discovery, Koro Ilustrado.
“Last year, we introduced to you this group through their first-ever album ‘Sa Iyong Pag-ibig’. Although that was their first attempt at recording, Koro Illustrado has actually been around, singing at masses in various parishes in the Metropolis,” Fr. Nono Alfonso, JesCom director, shared.
According to him, despite the members’ hectic schedule given that many of them are full-time parents and career-professionals, they have persisted in their love for music and in their dedication to serve the Church.
“Their efforts are now bearing fruits. In singing contests here and abroad, Koro Ilustrado has been winning awards and recognition as well,” Alfonso noted.
“Now you can enjoy anew and afresh our well-loved Christmas carols. Through this musical gift, we pray that your Christmas may be joyful and prayerful,” the priest added. (Raymond A. Sebastián/CBCPNews)
