TACLOBAN City, April 11, 2016 –A priest underscored anew the importance of obeying God before men, saying in obedience man finds life’s meaning.

“The moment we obey the Lord, there are many miracles that will happen in our life, and only in this way we can be productive” said Sto. Niño parish priest Fr. Ronel Taboso.

“Our life will be fruitful if we include God in our daily life,” he added, pointing out man’s ability to accomplish God-given responsibilities.

Commenting on the Sunday Gospel, Taboso likewise impressed on the minds of the faithful the benefit of heeding God’s call “for our safety and happiness.”

He also reminded those voluntarily serving the Church, such as the members of the Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, to always remember that it was not them who chose God first but it was God who chose them first.

According to him, among those given special tasks are individuals who volunteer for church activities and events.

The new set of pastoral and finance councils in Sto. Niño Parish under the stewardship of Taboso and his co-pastor Fr. Wilson Chu had their installation during the morning Mass which the priest presided over.

Pastoral and finance councils PFCs are created in response to the call to involve the local faithful in drafting policies to be enforced in the parish as discussed in the second Plenary Council of the Philippines (PCP II). (Eileen Nazareno-Ballesteros / CBCP News)
