MANILA, March 20, 2014— The Philippine Postal Corp. (PhilPost) is issuing the 2014 Joint Stamp between the Philippines and the Holy See, featuring Pope Francis.
The PhilPost said, it is issuing 90,000 pieces of the special Pope Francis Year II – 2014” stamps, which will be sold at P40.00 each starting Friday (March 21).
Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz hopes to present the stamps to the Vatican during PhilPost’s scheduled corridor marketing campaign this coming April in Rome.
The Vatican Postal Administration has also produced a stamp bearing the same design, which will also be issued on March 21.
Stamps shall be available at all PhilPost shops and post offices nationwide.
Pope Francis just celebrated his first year in office last March 16.
His leadership has impressed both believers and non-believers alike, giving him the highest popularity rating of any recent pontiff. (CBCPNews)
