PASIG City, Nov. 9, 2012—Finding out their vocation in life and getting the courage to respond to the call will be some of the challenges young people are set to discuss and reflect on during the vocation festival set to happen tomorrow.
The Diocese of Pasig will be hosting the 5th DVP-NCR Vocation Festival 2012 initiated by the Directors of Vocation in the Philippines-National Capital Region on November 10 at St. Paul College Pasig.
With the theme “I am for Christ”, the activity aims to promote vocations to priesthood and consecrated life in the capital as well as an apt response to the calling of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, for Renewed Evangelization and Integral Faith Formation.
Organizers believe that one way of rediscovering the beauty of the Christian Faith is to relive the life of Jesus and the activities for this year’s festival favor a more tangible structure to present the highlights of the Life of Jesus of Nazareth.
An estimated 4,000 participants among the youth and young professionals from seven dioceses in NCR are expected to attend the vocation festival.
One of the event’s highlights is the breakthrough circles?another way of looking at the life of Christ in the midst of digital world.
Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara will give a talk on Christian witnessing and following Jesus, where he will challenge the young to pattern their lives after the heart of San Pedro Calungsod.
The first Vocation CD will also be launched on the day of the event. The album’s title is the same with the theme “I AM For Christ” which is produced by the diocese of Pasig and co-produced and distributed by the Daughters of St. Paul. It will be available on the market after the launch on November 10.
The event will culminate with a Eucharistic Mass to be presided by Bishop Vergara.
