PASIG City, June 25, 2013—Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara will celebrate a send-off mass for the diocese’s official delegates to the 27th World Youth Day (WYD) celebration in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this coming July 2013.
Organized by the Pasig Diocesan Youth Ministry (PDYM), the send-off mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral on June 29 at 6 p.m.
Around 500 young people from different parishes in the diocese are expected to participate in the celebration.
“World Youth Day is a pilgrimage of Faith and an incredible experience of conversion, reconciliation and renewal for so many of those who make the journey and for those who continuously live the spirit of the journey. For this reason, we must always remember to give thanks and ask for our Lord’s guidance,” the youth ministry said.
Young people are encouraged to share in the spiritual journey as part of a “One Diocese” making Christ known to others—the most precious gift that can be shared through the youth ministry.
The diocese will be sending 7 delegates who will join the official delegation of the diocese of Cubao, while some will attend as individuals during the international celebration.
Aside from the send off mass, the diocese will also hold a diocesan youth gathering on the same day at the San Felipe Formation Center. (Jandel Posion)
