MANILA, Nov. 7, 2013— The Catholic clergy in Pangasinan will take to the stage in song and dance at “Fadz Gold” concert in Dagupan City next week.
Around 103 priests and deacons including 45 nuns, 48 seminarians and 20 selected youth leaders will during the concert at the CSI Stadia on November 12.
Organizers said that the concert will present the pilgrimage of faith that the faithful have taken since Pangasinan was made a diocese in 1928 and an archdiocese in 1963.
The Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan is set to celebrate 50 years as a metropolitan province this year.
“It is a tribute of gratitude to the past archbishops and servant leaders of our archdiocese. It is a celebration of hope for the many years ahead looking forward to our centennial in 2028,” the archdiocese said.
“We hope to make our youth and children aware of the sacrifices that our grandparents in the faith have offered so that we can be where we are right now—a vibrant, living, caring and proclaiming Church,” it said.
Organizers said that Fadz is a name of endearment that youth give to priests whom the faithful reverently call “Father” in the Church.
“The youth are treasures of the Church. More than anyone else, this concert is for them. We want to show our youth that serving the Lord is a sure source of joy,” they said.
“We dance and sing, laugh and jump for the Lord! We serve the Lord with joy and our joy is doubled staying by Him,” the organizers added.
Tickets are available in all parish offices and Catholic schools. (CBCPNews)
