KIDAPAWAN, June 24, 2015 -The Social Action Director of the Kidapawan Diocese, Fr. Rogelio Nim or Fr. Jake passed away after suffering a heart attack at around mid-night last Sunday.
“Fr. Jake was supposed to join our Training Workshop on Sustainable Agriculture and Social Enterprise in Butuan this week starting Monday, together with his staff and community representatives. Just two weeks ago, we were in Tagaytay for a Training on Community Organizing and Conflict Management. He was not only an attentive participant, but also the natural photographer and the life of the party/training,” said Fr. Edwin Gariguez, Executive Secretary of the National Secretariat for Social Action, Justice and Peace.
His remains lie in state at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Diocesan Seminary, Guadalupe Bishop’s Palace, Kidapawan City. Interment will be on June 29 with a Holy Eucharistic celebration at 9:00 a.m.
“We will miss Fr. Jake and the fond memories with him from NASAGA in Butuan, Alay Kapwa Trainings and Launching in Davao and Tagum, and the preparation work in starting an Agrarian Reform and Sustainable Agriculture project with his Diocese – which we will continue to support. He will be remembered for his kind and jolly personality as a colleague, ‘Father”’ and friend… and also his camera/ photography,” Gariguez added. (Yen Ocampo/CBCPNews)
