Ignacio film to show in US

MANILA, Aug. 15, 2016 – The Filipino-produced film on the life of Jesuit founder St. Ignacio de Loyola will be showing in U.S. theaters starting Aug. 26, 2016.

The Php 50-million Jesuit Communications project, in coordination with ABS CBN’s TFC group, will open at the following locations on the same day:

West Coast:

  • Century Great Mall – Milpitas, CA
  • Century at Tanforan – San Bruno, CA
  • Century 25 – Union City, CA
  • AMC Orange 30 – Orange, CA
  • AMC Plaza Bonita 14 – National City, CA
  • AMC Burbank 8 – Burbank, CA
  • Pickwick Theater – Park Ridge, IL

East Coast:

  • AMC Hoffman Center 22 – Alexandria, VA
  • AMC Loews Jersey Gardens – Elizabeth, NJ
  • Hudson Mall Cinemas – Jersey City, NJ
  • Clearview Bergenfield – Bergenfield, NJ
  • Movieworld Cinemas – Douglaston, NY
  • AMC Empire 25 – New York, NY

Directed by Paolo Dy, the movie, which features Shakespeare-trained Spanish actor Andreas Muñoz in the title role, features many accurate details in the life and times of Ignacio de Loyola.

“We went to many of the actual sites where Ignatius’ story happened,” says Dy. “The house in Loyola, the Basque country… We also went to the actual cave in Manresa where St. Ignatius struggled with his conscience (and) in Montserrat which is a gorgeous, gorgeous place.”
