QUEZON City, Aug. 6, 2015?Filipinos are not called “Pueblo Amante de María” for nothing.
In this regard, all Catholics, particularly Marian devotees, from Metro Manila as well as nearby provinces have a chance to take part in a day of reflection on Aug. 15, Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, which aims to deepen their knowledge of and relationship with the Blessed Virgin .
Themed “Assumption of Our Lady: Our Life in Glory,” the free event is part of the quarterly seminar on “Living Our Consecration to the Immaculate Heart” initiated by the Diocese of Cubao’s Formation Ministry.
Held four times a year, the talk series is open to the public and responds to the call of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on June 8, 2013 to the faithful to “renew once again – more earnestly, more deeply, with greater preparation – our Consecration and Entrustment to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as – necessarily accompanying it – our renewal of consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.”
Moreover, the formation also seeks to prepare Filipinos spiritually for the 51st International Eucharistic Congress to be held in Cebu in January of 2016.
A Marian speaker and retreat master, Fr. Omer Prieto is slated to give the talk set on Aug. 15, Saturday, Feast of the Assumption, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 3/F Chancery Building, Diocese of Cubao, Lantana St. cor. New York St., Cubao, Quezon City.
While no fees will be collected, participants are advised to bring their own lunch.
Mass will be celebrated to end the activity.
