Confab to tackle Christian-Muslim dialogue

QUEZON City, Nov. 4, 2014—The Maryhill School of Theology (MST) is set to host a theological symposium on interreligious dialogue on Nov. 11, Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at the MST Multimedia Room, CICM Maryhill School of Theology,14th St., corner Gilmore Ave., New Manila, Quezon City.

Executive secretary of CBCP's Episcopal Commission on Interreligious Dialogue (ECID) Fr. Carlos Reyes meets Dr. Kiumars Amiri, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Dr. Seyed Mastafa Daryabervi, vice president of the International Institute for Islamic Studies to plan a forum on peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims.

Resource speakers Sr. Nimfa Ebora, PDDM and Fr. John Mallare, CICM will each be given 40 minutes to expound on the topic “Interreligious Dialogue in the Bible and in the Qur’an”.

“For the part of interreligious dialogue in the Bible, the ways in which Jesus involved himself in a dialogue with people of other traditions and faiths will be dealt with,” shared Ebora in an interview.

According to Ebora, her talk will also deal with the difference between
evangelization and interreligious dialogue.

The talk is free and open to the public.
