Confab includes social media skills training

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, September 8, 2014—With seven of its workshops especially designed to train future online missionaries in various important skills for social media evangelization, the upcoming Catholic Social Media Summit v3.0 (CSMS v3.0) promises to have more than the usual lineup of talks.

YouthPinoy (YP), the team behind CSMS v3.0, has enlisted seven experts in the fields of graphics design, journalism and online publication, video and animation, content sharing and distribution, and others.

What’s more, they are Catholics, and they are more than eager to help CSMS v3.0 participants become more effective social media evangelizers.

Powerful images and more

Kei San Pablo will give the “Picture Perfect Inspirations: Creating Images and Graphics Fit for Social Media Evangelization” workshop.

For those who want to know how to create powerful images with inspiring verses and quotes, Kei San Pablo’s workshop “Picture Perfect Inspirations: Creating Images and Graphics Fit for Social Media Evangelization”, will give tips on how to turn Bible verses into share-worthy memes.

Rommel Lopez (“Publishing Your Faith: Expressing Your Catholic Faith and Beliefs through Article & Content Writing”)

In “Publishing Your Faith: Expressing Your Catholic Faith and Beliefs through Article & Content Writing”, Rommel Lopez, a social communications consultant and social media manager, will teach participants with a passion for the written word how to write articles for online distribution.

The more techie-type will benefit much from Animated Catholicism: Creating Videos & Animations that Communicate the Catholic Faith”, where Charlie Aquino, Sophie Creatives Animation co-founder, will brief delegates on how to create animation and videos using tools and resources available online.

In “Social Builders: Building Your Parish and Organization’s Social Media Presence”, Genesis Reonico, a blog and social media entrepreneur from DigitalFilipino.com, can help individuals and organizations wanting to jumpstart their social media presence but do not know how.

Participants who are just starting out online and would like to know how the social media works and how it can be used to inspire and evangelize will enjoy “OMG (Online Missionaries of God) Bootcamp: Learn How to Use and Maximize Social Media the Catholic Way” to be given by JP Acuña, an Information and Communication Technology for Development Coordinator at Catholic Relief Services.

In “Instafaith: How to Take Pictures & Use Instagram & Pinterest for Evangelization”, YP president Sky Ortigas will share tips on how to take photos professionally and use Instagram and Pinterest in spreading the Catholic messages of faith, hope and love.

Registration for CSMS v3.0 is P800, inclusive of a kit, ID, and meals. A registration of P1,200 per head will include accommodations.

The CSMS v3.0, which will be held on September 13-14, 2014, at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center, Provincial Capitol grounds in Lingayen, Pangasinan, is the flagship event of YP, a group of online missionaries under the auspices of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Media Office and the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth (CBCP-ECY).
