PASIG City, Sept. 10, 2015 – An “evening of prayer and music” is set to be held on Sept. 26, Saturday, 6:00 p.m. at the Bishop F. Rooker Auditorium in St. Paul College Pasig for the benefit of a struggling congregation of women religious.

Sr. Bubbles Bandojo of the Religious of the Cenacle Sisters (RC) shared in an interview on Wednesday, Sept. 9, that the special concert aims to raise funds for the Asian branch of her congregation, its ministries and apostolates for the poor, the initial formation of future Cenacle sisters, and the care of its elderly members.

She expressed lament that out of the less than 30 Cenacle Sisters in Asia today, 17 are already past the age of 70.

Bandojo explained her congregation is active in giving retreats, seminars, workshops, and other spiritual programs.

Founded in 1829 by St. Thérèse Couderc in La Louvesc, France, the Cenacle Sisters place retreats, especially those according to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, at the center of their ministry.

In Asia, other than the Philippines, Cenacle Sisters are present in Singapore and Macau.

God’s beloved

Dubbed “Beloved: A Journey of Love”, Bandojo said the fundraising concert for the Cenacle Sisters will feature performances by the Ateneo Chamber Singers, Hangad, Bukas Palad Music Ministry, and Himig Heswita as well as guest appearances by music legends Noel Cabangon and Basil S. Valdez.

According to her, it is about time all people reclaim their identity as God’s beloved.

Despite the problems and hardships happening the world, she stressed people can rest assured in the fact that there is always a Person up there Who continues to love them no matter what.
