MANILA, Jan. 26, 2017–Caritas Manila is appealing for aid for victims of severe flooding in different parts of Mindanao.
Floods caused by torrential rains last week inundated many areas particularly in the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and Diocese of Butuan.
In a statement, Caritas Manila said more donations are needed as affected communities continue their recovery from the disaster.
“We appeal for prayers for Divine protection and to help alleviate the sufferings through our donations in cash and in kind for the relief and rehabilitation needs of our kababayans in the affected areas,” it said.
The social action arm of the Manila archdiocese said the victims in Butuan diocese particularly needs food, medicines, and potable water.
Flood victims in Cagayan de Oro, on the other hand, is appealing for transitional shelters especially for families living in “danger zones.”
