PARAÑAQUE City, Dec. 5, 2015 –The Redemptorist Community held a vocation concert on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (OMPH) in Baclaran, Parañaque City to wrap up this year’s vocation month.
Redemptorist lay missionary Edwin Dio Despabiladeras said it was the first time an activity this big was put up to coincide with the first Wednesday of the month.
According to him, the Redemptorists hosted vocation search-ins and vocation sharings on Wednesdays all Sundays of November, culminating with the recent concert themed “Fiat of Mary: #TheRoadtoForever.”
Despabiladeras said priests, brothers, and sisters from various congregations, lay missionaries, as well as ordinary lay men and women took part in the month-long event, including religious from South Korea and Tonga.
Drawing as many as 300,000 faithful, first Wednesdays is when the most number of devotees prefer to flock what is more popularly called the Baclaran shrine to pray novenas and venerate the world-famous Perpetual Help icon. (Raymond A. Sebastián / CBCP News)
