PASAY City, June 9, 2015 – With humility that would shame less talented artists, Asia’s Got Talent 2015 Grand Winner, El Gamma Penumbra, credits God for helping them bag the top prize of the regional talent competition.

“Who are we that God would love us? Who are we that God would give us his Holy Spirit? But God used us to give honor to our country,” said Ronnel Amano, a member of El Gamma Penumbra, speaking speaking in behalf of his team mates at the 7th National Catholic Charismatic Congress at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City on June 7.

Aside from specifically thanking God, Amano also acknowledged everyone who supported the group’s bid to gain recognition as the best entertainment act in Asia.

“We want to thank the Lord, our family, our friends…In behalf of my friends in the group, I want to thank all of you who prayed, watched and fought for us,” he said in Filipino to the thousands gathered for the national event.

After Amano’s sharing, the group performed to the song “Who Am I?” by Counting Crows.

Due to calls for an encore from the crowd, El Gamma Penumbra went on to reprise their Asia’s Got Talent grand finals presentation, which featured the song “Colors of the Wind” from the Walt Disney film “Pocahontas.” (Nirva’ana Ella Delacruz/CBCP News)
