MANILA, Jan. 29, 2013—Secretary General of the Vatican’s Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood Dr. J. Baptistine Ralamboarison stressed in an interview with CBCPNews that missionaries, especially the children must share the love of God.
“Children can offer prayers and share God’s word to fellow children,” she said during the Mission Congress, a culmination program for the celebration of the Year of Pontifical Mission Societies held at San Juan Gymnasium on January 26.
Ralamboarison said to “never be ashamed to share the Word of God and to make it known.”
“You children, can do many things that adult people cannot do. At your age, you must dare to act, dare to give and be heard, so never stop shouting and saying what you feel. You must speak for yourselves and share the Word of God to your fellow children and to adult people as well,” Ralamboarison furthered.
Meanwhile, Marawi Bishop Edwin De La Peña in a separate interview emphasized that even if the Year of the Pontifical Mission comes to an end, the mission of everyone especially children continues.
“Mission is an output on the current celebration of the Year of Faith. And we will be able to revitalize our faith, to enthusiastically share the faith through celebrating this special Church occasion. Don’t keep it to yourself because it is a gratitude to God,” De la Peña said.
He stressed that sharing the faith means valuing it.
“It is just a culmination to a certain Church activity but it doesn’t end here. We need to go back to Jesus; He is the basis, the criteria for judgment or for making decisions and giving values to the things we see around as a reference,” the prelate added.
De la Peña challenged the children and the young people present during the celebration to take a more intimate relationship with Jesus and to have a deeper faith with Him. (Jandel Posion/CBCPNews)
