Announcement of Cardinal Sin Catholic book awardees set

PASAY City, Sept. 16, 2015 – Winners of the 9th Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards (CSCBA) will be announced on Sept. 17, Thursday, 3 p.m. at the SMX Convention Center stage area, Mall of Asia (MOA) Complex, Pasay City.

The awarding ceremony is set to coincide with the 36th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF).

This year, the following 22 books and 18 authors competing in seven different categories have been shortlisted as CSCBA finalists:

Family life

For Gospel, culture

Organized by the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc. (ACCI) in tandem with the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), CSCBA recognizes authors and publishers whose work promote total human development, Gospel values, and Filipino culture.

Participating publishers are: Word & Life Publications, St. Pauls Publishing, Institute of Spirituality in Asia, Shepherd’s Voice, Claretian Communications Foundation, Paulines, and Anvil Publishing.

First time at MIBF

According to Gigi Pasayloon, promotions and events coordinator of Word & Life Publications, Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, chair of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP)’s Episcopal Commission on Social Communications and Mass Media (ECSC), is expected to give the keynote for the event.
