MANILA, Oct. 5, 2015– For propagating values, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza of “AlDub Kalyeserye” will be among the recipients of a first Church-based social media award.
The recognition will be given to the trending love team during the 4th Catholic Social Media Summit (CSMSv4) in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on October 10 to 11.
The Catholic Social Media Awards, established by Youth Pinoy and the Areopagus Communications, Inc., aims to instil a sense of responsibility among online communicators.
Also receiving the award are Wally Bayola and TAPE productions, which produces the noon time show Eat Bulaga.
However, it’s only Mendoza and Bayola who will be able to attend the event which is expected to be attended by hundreds of social communication ministry workers and and young people.
Mon Bandril, part of the awards organizing committee, said the show deserves recognition because of the “inspiring message” it gives on virtues, values, chivalry, modesty, morality, respect for elders, among others.
“This is the kind [of show] that we don’t see on TV anymore,” Bandril said.
But more than the honor that comes with the citation, he added the CSMA aims to encourage producers, directors, writers, actors, and others in the entertainment industry to come out with more programs and content that are not only entertaining, “but are also steeped in Christian values.”
The CSMA is set to be launched on Sunday, the last day of the summit, at the Sta. Rosa City Hall Auditorium. (Raymond Sebastian/CBCPNews)
