BACOLOD, Oct. 1, 2015 – October is known in the universal Church as the month of the Most Holy Rosary, and the Bacolod diocese aims to celebrate precisely that with the designation of the second Sunday of October as the diocesan feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.
This year, the feast day falls on Oct. 11.
As part of the celebration, San Sebastian Cathedral rector Fr. Felix P. Pasquin announced that novena Masses will be held from Oct. 2 to 10, 2015.
‘Wake Up the World!’
According to Pasquin, “As this year was designated by Pope Francis as ‘Year of Consecrated Life’ for the whole Catholic Church, priests belonging to various religious congregations in Bacolod will celebrate the novena Masses.”
“The theme of the Year of Consecrated Life ‘Wake Up the World!’ was adopted for this year’s celebration of Bacolod’s feast of the Most Holy Rosary,” the priest added.
The Novena Masses will be celebrated at:
- 5:15 p.m. on weekdays
- 6:00 p.m. on Saturday
- 5:30 p.m. on Sunday
During the days of the Novena, parents, teachers, and students of Bacolod City’s private and public schools will also hold a “Living Rosary” at the Bacolod Public Plaza every 4:00 p.m.
Bacolod Bishop Vicente M. Navarra will preside over a Mass at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11, Sunday, at the San Sebastian Cathedral.
A solemn religious procession will also be held at 5:00 p.m. on the same date.
